Axion International Holdings Inc. announced that it has expanded into newer, larger office space to accommodate its growth for the coming year. The new office is located in New Providence, NJ, in a 2,100 sf location that will allow Axion to increase its current staff, with the added benefit of being able to utilize adjacent space as the need arises. On October 12, 2009, Michael Johnson resigned as the Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of Axion International Holdings Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary Axion International Inc. Mr. Johnson will pursue other opportunities and his resignation was not a result of any disagreement with the Company. On October 12, 2009, the Company and Subsidiary appointed Gary Anthony to serve as Chief Financial Officer and Secretary, effective on October 13, 2009. Axion International Holdings Inc. announced the official public unveiling of the high-load thermoplastic bridges designed from 100% recycled plastic at Fort Bragg, which are the first known structures of their kind to support loads in excess of 70 tons. The two bridges were commissioned by the military and built at Fort Bragg, NC in order to help facilitate troop movements which were becoming more difficult using wooden bridges with substantially less load/weight capacity. Axion's bridges are less expensive to maintain and are engineered to carry the extreme tonnage requirements for armored military vehicles that would simply not be possible with currently existing wooden bridges.
