Altair Corp. announced it has added another key strategic partner to its network of channel partners with CB Technologies, which will be promoting and selling Altair's PBS Professional, the leading cluster and grid-computing workload management and scheduling software. The agreement illustrates Altair's commitment to providing unified software solutions to reduce costs and increase value to customers. As an HP Platinum Business Partner, CB Technologies offers flexible and affordable high performance computing (HPC) solutions to its customers. By joining the Altair Channel Partner network, CB Technologies will integrate Altair's PBS Professional with its HP product solutions to deliver higher value to its customers.

Altair Corp. announced that it has integrated PBS Professional, its on-demand computing software environment for grid-and cluster-computing, with the HP Cluster Management Utility (CMU), a tool for the management of HPC clusters and compute farms. Jointly, Altair noted, the products deliver to customers a seamless way to completely manage high-performance computing (HPC) cluster systems. Together PBS Professional and HP CMU offer new Green Provisioning features to help customers manage central processing unit (CPU) frequency as exposed by the Linux kernel as well as monitor running jobs. This type of capability provides organizations an automated method to manage their systems and potentially lower electricity and other operational costs.

Altair is interested in acquiring an Indian company as part of its expansion plans in India. The company has identified three potential companies in Europe and India for the purpose. The companies are engaged in industrial design, computational fluid dynamics and manufacturing simulation.
