Ambertech Ltd. reported earnings results for the six months ended December 31, 2009. For the period net profit of the company increased 101.6% to $2.01 million from $996,000 for the first half of last year. Revenue fell 1.7% to $37.89 million from $38.54 million. The company also reported that interim dividend has been increased from 1.5 cents to 3.5 cents, fully franked, payable on March 31 to shareholders registered March 16. The dividend reinvestment plan is not operating.

Ambertech Ltd. has won a contract with the State of Victoria, through Victoria Police, for the supply and installation of David Horn Communications (DHC) Digital Interview Recording Equipment, following a comprehensive tender evaluation process. The contract has an estimated value of more than $9m over five years, with Ambertech having supplied $5m worth of equipment and services during the initial 12 months of the contract. Victoria Police has deployed over 500 units to date throughout Police Stations and other Victoria Police facilities and training establishments state-wide as part of the Digital Evidence Capture project currently in progress.

Ambertech Ltd. provided earnings guidance for the second quarter ending December 31, 2009. The company expects earnings before interest and tax to be in the range of $2.9 million to $3.3 million and profit for the period is expected to be in the range of $1.8 million to $2.2 million after tax.
