Artumas Group Inc. announced that effective August 24, 2009 John W.S. Bentley, Acting Executive Chairman, has accepted the position of Executive Chairman on a permanent basis. As well, effective August 24, 2009 Cameron Barton, Acting President and Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Financial Officer, has accepted the positions of President and Chief Executive Officer on a permanent basis. Effective August 15, 2009 Duncan Nightingale has accepted a consulting role with the Company for a period of six months and will therefore be relinquishing his current role as Senior Vice President of Exploration and Production. This decision was arrived at by mutual agreement.

Artumas Group Inc. announced that Mr. Michael Jansa has been appointed to the board with immediate effect. Mr. Jansa is a Managing Director and founding partner of ECP. Before joining ECP, Mr. Jansa was a Vice President of GE Capital's Structured Finance Group. The Government of Tanzania through its Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs has confirmed it will provide $7.0 million to Artumas in the form of a loan to the Company's Tanzanian gas business, thus providing financial stability to production operations critical to the generation of power in the Mtwara region. The terms of this loan are now being documented and will be announced when they are finalized.
