Ark Therapeutics Group plc reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2009. For the year, loss was 19,866,000 or 10 pence basic and diluted loss per share on revenue of 2,964,000 compared to loss of 15,885,000 or 8 pence basic and diluted loss per share on revenue of 929,000 for the previous year. Operating loss was 21,763,000 against 20,461,000 of 2008. Loss on ordinary activities before taxation was 21,153,000 compared to 17,600,000 for the year ended December 31, 2008. Net cash used in operating activities was 19,478,000 compared to 20,447,000 of 2008. Purchases of property, plant and equipment were 1,364,000 compared to 7,944,000 of previous year. In the year ended December 31, 2009 the Group earned investment income of 0.6 million against 2.9 million of 2008 on cash deposits.The decrease was due to the significant fall in interest rates achievable as well as the lower cash and money market investments.

The Board of Ark Therapeutics Group plc on March 9, 2010 announced that following the withdrawal of the Cerepro MAA, Ark has initiated a full review of its substantial portfolio of assets, their potential and alternative strategies and options to optimize shareholder value. The review will also consider strategic alternatives in light of approaches that have already been received. The Company has received a number of approaches and has initiated further discussions with a number of parties which may or may not lead to an offer. However, there can be no certainty that an offer will be made for the Company. A further announcement will be made in due course.

Ark Therapeutics Group plc announced that it has signed a non binding preferred supplier memorandum with Merck and Sharpe & Dohme Corp. for the production of gene based medicines at Arks cGMP licensed facility in Kuopio, Finland. The appointment as preferred manufacturing supplier is subject to the signing of a binding detailed manufacturing agreement.
