Key developments for ALTERNATIVE FUEL TECHNOLOGIE (AFTC)
Alternative Fuel Technologies Inc. announced that it has received an order from Shanghai Diesel Engine Company. Shanghai Diesel indicated the majority of the pumps will be used on DME-fueled buses operating in Shanghai. The pumps are scheduled for deliveries over the next 90 to 120 days.
Alternative Fuel Technologies Inc. announced that Korean Institute for Energy Research (KIER) senior technical personnel visited us recently and informed us that they were starting a new DME vehicle R/D project in June, 2010 and that they wanted AFTC's fuel injection technology. Alternative Fuel Technologies Inc. (AFTC) announced that they have shipped four DME feed pumps to the Korea Institute for Energy Research (KIER) for use in development of DME fueled diesel engines. The DME feed pump transfers DME from the fuel tank to the engine's fuel injection system at a pressure of about 180 psi. Pumping DME requires special materials and technology that have been developed by AFTC.
Alternative Fuel Technologies Inc. announced the Company has successfully completed a Phase 1 SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) project and has submitted a draft final report. This project involved accelerated testing and analysis of a high pressure fuel injection pump running on JP-8 jet fuel. The Army has a policy to use a single fuel (JP-8) for all of their 'vehicles' and engine powered equipment, including turbine powered tanks, helicopters, trucks, HUMVEES, generators, etc. AFTC test results show that the pump suffered high wear in a short period of time because of the fuel characteristics.
