NCEN or AWNE Posted: 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago THANKS: 0
These are two WIND ENERGY stocks at very different price points.
Wind is growing at over 25% a year and will continue to grow
as the world turns \"greener.\"

NCEN Nacel Energy Corporation

This has been the hottest stock in wind energy lately,
tripling in price from $1 since February.

It traded up to about 3.80 then finally turned down.
It\'s around 3 bucks a share now (April 9 08 1pmEST)
and should settle soon, then begin another climb.

There are cheaper wind stocks out there which are good
plays for the future, but NCEN is at that magic $3 mark
where bigger players seem to start taking notice and it
moves into a higher level of trading.

NCEN already trades at a very high volume for a small cap,
20-50x more volume than competing lower-priced wind stocks.
The combination of high interest in the stock and its price
point make it a good buy during this dip.

Keep an eye on it for the move upward. Last time it took off
there were huge gains to be made in just a few days.

AWNE American Wind Energies

Here\'s a pick for all you penny players. The company does business
in wind turbines in Canada and the US. It\'s currently trading at
just .40, which is even lower than WNEA (another wind stock that\'s
getting noticed at 1.35 a share). I like AWNE over WNEA not just for
the cheaper price, but for their business prospects. They have a deal
in place with one of the most established Dutch wind turbine suppliers,
and don\'t have some of the negatives (like a mysterious failed deal in
Vegas) that makes me nervous about WNEA. For less regulated companies
like these, I think it\'s wise to watch for those red flags.

I like AWNE to make a run and triple in price this year, as the action on
NCEN moves up to the bigger players, and microcap investors look for
the next hot wind play at a low low price. AWNE is poised to be that stock.

Re:NCEN or AWNE Posted: 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago THANKS: 0
NCEN popped up to $5 yesterday, dropped back today.
Up from $1 in February. (5X growth in as many months!!)

Meanwhile AWNE has been rising steadily since announcement that it will
be bought by Emergya, its Dutch partner in producing and distributing
the turbines used to generate wind power. Now at 45 cents a share.

I bought in @ .40, really curious as to where AWNE will do after this deal goes through.

AWNE has been up and down from around .37 to .49 for months.
I'm really surprised it hasn't climbed higher, considering
the business it's in, and the fact that it's already a profitable
company. The merger announcement barely moved the stock.

I'm confused by AWNE too. Nacel finally took a decent jump yesterday, but so did JUHL. That one I like, even though it's brand spanking new so I may wait a minute to get in. Someone else said NCEN may only be a PR company for wind? They did post JUHL's IPO on their site, but I figured it was because Nacel is more into wind than it is money. Refreshing.

NCEN seems to be the crowd favorite. I will look into JUHL though
I've grown skeptical of many pennies.

When this merger is complete, what does it look like for AWNE shareholders?

LOL just from reading the first sentence looks like AWNE shareholders are going down with the ship. Never be in a stock that merges with another company be in with the company that is forcing the merger.

AWNE has been much more solid than the rest of the market, dropping
only a few pennies when most other stocks take dramatic plunges.
In the past week, you'd've been much better off owning AWNE than APPLE.

It's also not a "forced merger" from what I've read but a very amenable one.
The investors will be bought out, probably with a small premium, but since
the investors will have to approve any such merger, the buy-out price might
be affected by how much the controlling investors bought in at. The stock
was a dollar higher a year ago.

Anyone in AWNE already would be wise to hang in. I certainly wouldn't want to be short this stock when the merger goes through.
